Some fans of the “Sex and the City” spin-off “And Just Like That…” are begging for the return of Carrie Bradshaw’s signature style.
Sarah Jessica Parker, 57, posed in her latest outfit for Season 2 of the HBO Max series in an Instagram post on Wednesday. She bundled up in a long plaid coat with a colorful dress underneath.
Her wavy hair was topped with a gray fedora while a purple and silver handbag and teal boots with cutouts tied the ensemble together. One social media commenter called the look “tramp chic”.
Longtime “Sex and the City” costume designer Patricia Field hasn’t returned for the next series as she’s busy working on Netflix’s “Emily in Paris.”
Costume designers Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago have since stepped in — and come under scrutiny — for fashion on “AJLT,” as some fans believe Bradshaw’s famously flirty style is gone.
“There are layers to look this good,” read the caption to Wednesday’s post.
“LOVE Carrie Bradshaw, forever! Just watched the whole series and both movies and her style is ALWAYS iconic,” one user commented on the Instagram post. “However, in the new series, her style is not that of an older Carrie Bradshaw…please bring back Carrie’s signature style!”
“We know her character is mid-50s, and today’s 50s is SUPER stylish! I respectfully implore you…please dress her as her fans expect! the comment continued.
“So covered up is fine but I miss Carrie with her short dresses and bare shoulders,” another added.
“I hate how Hollywood makes them feel like once you get old you can’t show your skin. Yes you can like Sam did in the old ‘Sex and the City’,” wrote another.
“Carrie didn’t dress like that on the show, in SATC. Whoever dresses her for this new show has a bigger budget and a completely different look in mind. I don’t like that. She looks like a hobo classy,” another commenter wrote in a snap from the costume department.
“Who said it looked good?” a user obediently dissipated.
Other Bradshaw stans loved the look.
“Old Carrie is back,” said one user.
” This coat ! This hat! That hair!” another gushed.
“Always iconic,” one wrote.
“She is still so fabulous. I LOVE IT! Gorgeous as usual!” another shared.
The release date for season 2 of “And Just Like That…” has not been announced.
